Principal's Message

Amy Lenart

Welcome to the Bon Air Elementary School website.  My name is Amy Lenart and I am honored to serve as the principal of such an outstanding school!

Bon Air Elementary is a kindergarten-third grade building which educates over 520 students.  As a staff, we are committed to excellence in education for every child.  Our curriculum is strong and focuses on the core subjects of Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science.  In addition, the students are provided instruction in the areas of Music, Art, Physical Education, Computers, and Library.

To help inspire and prepare our students for life, our teachers use a variety of learning experiences within their classrooms.  All of the students participate in WIN (What I Need) time where essential skills are practiced, retaught, and enriched in order to meet the needs of all of our students.  Additionally, we have an established Response to Intervention and Instruction (RtII) model which provides high quality instruction and uses data to make decisions that help all of our students grow as learners.

Bon Air Elementary values the social and emotional growth of our students both inside and outside of the classroom.  Our Bon Air C.A.R.E.S. program is a schoolwide character education program that promotes many core values such as respect, kindness, sharing, etc.  The students are encouraged to demonstrate these traits towards one another and they are recognized when they do so in our school.

In addition to our wonderful staff, Bon Air Elementary is fortunate to have an outstanding PTA.  This group of dedicated parents and family members consistently goes above and beyond in their efforts to support students and staff.  Through the active participation of our PTA, our school has been provided with many materials and events that have enhanced each student’s school experience.  I commend the efforts of the PTA and encourage all families to join this organization.

I invite you to explore this school website and to use it as a tool to help you learn more about our district, stay informed, and become an active participant in the education of your child.  Please be sure to also check Skyward for additional information relating to your child’s progress.

Thank you for being an active partner in your child’s education!

Sincerely,

Amy P. Lenart
